Top Five Design Build Considerations

  1. Feasibility / Location / Lease
  2. Build Time / Down time / Keep sake
  3. Standards
  4. Budget / Returns
  5. Expansion
  1. Feasibility / Location / Lease = Consider the location of your recording space in relation to unwanted noise sources near by. Check planning to see if any alterations to your surrounding area are planned in near future before committing a facility location. A 3 year lease or under may really change the way you design your facility
  2. Build Time / Down Time / Keep Sake = Consideration should also be given to accessibility to your proposed facility, poor access will make it difficult for deliveries and moving in materials, this will increase the build time and potentially set back in handing over your new facility, if down time is crucial it maybe possible to construct some of your facility off site and if the access is good bolt it together and deliver sections to site meaning less on site time, here it may also be possible to demount in the same way and rebuild some of the facility in the event that your lease is up and you chose to move.
  3. Standards = Consider any current or up and coming standards for your industry, try think ahead and stay ahead of your competition. This may impact the design and build of your project
  4. Budget / Returns = Some facilities display a flexing of the arm but are simply not going to provide enough returns for your business against what your budget can pull in, we have 30 years experience and can help advise what is really required.
  5. Expansion = Early consideration should consider that a couple years after you move in to your new facility you will hopefully gain an upside in business and therefore try and allow room within your facility to expand rather than having to move again.
